DTFCH FAQS
What is Deep Tracks and Future Classic Hits?
A new show on 92.7 The Eagle that plays songs you don't hear very often (if at all) on local radio. Most of the artists normally heard on The Eagle have at least one album with several hits on them. Take Thriller by Michael Jackson for example. You have at least three "hits" on that album, but several others you don't hear very often, or again at all. That's where we come in. You'll hear songs during this show that you will know (and some you don't). I expect many of you to say "man, I haven't heard that song in a loooong time" (with the same drawn out wording lol). The second half of the show is Future Classic Hits, which means you'll only hear songs from the past maybe 10-20 years. I'm 30 years old... and getting older. Some of these songs I already consider classic hits, but many don't see it that way. Give it another 10 years, and you'll consider the songs I play during the second hour to be classic hits. That's where I came up with that from, as convoluted as it sounds.
When does the show air?
Saturdays - 10 am to noon, exclusively on 92.7 The Eagle.
Why do this?
I've been trying to get a show going like this for at least 3 years now. The main reason is, I see a void here in northeastern Wyoming with stations not playing these songs. This is no fault of their own, it just is what it is. I hope this show compliments the already awesome music you hear on the station. Eventually, I hope all of these songs will be molded into the normal playlist.
How do you pick the songs?
Simply put, I love music. I love most classic rock from the 1950s through the early 2000s. I have over 4,500 songs in my personal collection, which continues to grow as time goes on. These songs are picked based on the simple fact that they were popular enough but not quite popular to be played in normal rotation. I hope that makes sense.
Can I request a song?
Of course you can, this is a live show (with about a two second delay). I welcome requests and will give out the phone number several times. If I don't do that, call anyway. Just know that if you call, you may be put on the air.
I can't receive your station where I live, is there any way I can hear it?
Sorry, due to limitations in copyright which are frankly very archaic and anti-productive, I can't help you there. We can't stream nor can we record the shows.
How can I become a sponsor for the show?
We have several sales representatives that can help in this matter. Call 672-2690 during regular business hours (M-F 8-5), and thanks for your interest.
Who are the bands/artists in that photo above?
I didn't make it that difficult did I?
Ok, from top left... U2, VAN HALEN, QUEEN, DOOBIE BROTHERS, THE DOORS, REO SPEEDWAGON, VAN MORRISON, YES...
Second row: FLEETWOOD MAC, COLLECTIVE SOUL, ROLLING STONES, THE BEATLES, SUPERTRAMP, SHERYL CROW...
Third row: PAT BENATAR, PINK FLOYD, MOODY BLUES, BEATLES (AGAIN), THE GUESS WHO, CROWDED HOUSE, and GUNS N' ROSES... and yes, I created that specifically for the Eagle Facebook page. Find it here.
How far does The Eagle go?
I have heard the station all the way from south of Billings to Gillette. I'm pretty sure you can hear it in Busby, Montana. For FM radio, height matters over power.
Why is this page not fancy, or, I don't like the way it looks!
Because I wanted it to be simple, and I'm not terribly fond of templates. I am also not an expert with HTML. I take full responsibility for this web site looking dorky. :)
Can I do this show on my station?
As long as you don't do it in this market, I don't have a problem with it... oh and call it by another name please. I'm glad I can inspire people, I just wish there was a little less monkey see monkey do if ya know what I mean. Originality seems rare these days, but don't let me stop you. I won't threaten legal action and rattle chains.
